OREGON STATE TAX CREDITS

 Solar Electric PV Credit

  1. Tax credit is based on $3 per watt up to $6,000

  2. $1,500 maximum credit can be claimed per year

Solar Water Heater Credit

  1. Tax credit amount is $0.60 per kWh saved up to $1,500.

  2. Credit is limited to 50 percent of the total system cost.

Passive Solar Credits

  1. System must provide at least a 20 percent reduction in annual space heating needs

  2. New or retrofit homes are eligible

  3. Tax credit amount is $0.60 per kWh saved up to $1,500

Active Solar Water-Heat System

  1. System must provide at least a 15 percent reduction in annual space heating needs.

  2. Tax credit amount is $0.60 per kWh saved up to $1,500

FEDERAL TAX CREDITS

Weatherization

  1. Federal, Generally 10% of material, $500 cap

  2. Adding insulation, sealing cracks and duct work

  3. Windows, skylights window films

  4. Pigmenting roofing with cooling granules

Heating & Cooling

  1. Gas, oil, propane, efficiencies, $150 cap

  2. Air conditioning $300

  3. Biomass stoves - $300

Solar Energy Systems

  1. Qualified solar water heating and photovoltaic systems

Ceramic tiles made with recycled materials, formaldehyde free

Flooring

Tiles with recycled content, such as waste glass, feldspar tailings, or reprocessed porcelain.
Natural linoleum from linseed oil, wood flour, pine resin, and pigments with a plant fiber backing.
Salvage granite, marble and slate
Cork is made from the scraps of bottle cork manufacturing, sustainable and very durable
Bamboo is fast growing, easy to clean and tougher than most hardwood
Reclaimed or certified sustainable wood

Energy & Heating

Be sure to hire an independent auditor, one who doesn’t represent a specific product or system. Professional tools, including test equipment for air leakage and infrared camera scans, allow you to ‘see’ energy losses in new ways.

 

Weatherstrip doors and windows, caulk frames, trim, threshold
Install gaskets behind outlets and switch plates
Seal joints, fan, pipe and wire gaps with foam

Upgrade insulation, including in the floors and on pipes
Upgrade to U .32 or less, double or triple pane windows
Eliminate moisture to prevent mold and mildew
Install programmable thermostat, photocells, timers and motion detectors.

Install solar warm air panel or hot water preheat.

Install tankless hot water heater or active solar hot water system.
